Born of the steel age in 1960, All-Clad Metalcrafters found its roots in a small metallurgical company that specialized in formulating bonded metals for a variety of industries. Company founder, John Ulam, was awarded more than 50 US patents, specifically related to bonded metals, and was instrumental in the US Mint’s conversion from solid silver coins to the bonded layered metals we use today.

Comments about All-Clad 6.5 Quart Slow Cooker with Ceramic Insert:
I bought this to replace an older model, which I would only bring out for personal use. This new crockpot is so handsome yet servicable. The ceramic insert is so easy to clean. I participated in a Soup cook off. I didn't win, but I was proud to say my soup was in the lovely All Clad stainless!

Comments about All-Clad 6.5 Quart Slow Cooker with Ceramic Insert:
Not only is it easy to use but looks great if you like 18/10 stainless steel.
The lip is wide and there is a seal around the base so that the juices of food does not drip into the base. This causes discoloration in the base and changes the way the slow cooker performs.
The reason I did not give it 5 stars, you cannot use the ceramic insert on the stove top. Which would enable me to brown my meats in the same pan.

I use it every week and just love it! Handles are metal ones. After cooking, it turns automatically to warm cycle, which is great.
